Georgia Spurns Fonda

Georgians are apparently still miffed about Jane Fonda's 1972 jaunt to North Vietnam. The Georgia Senate on Thursday, March 16th, voted almost unanimously to defeat a resolution that would honor the actress' charity work within the state.

Fonda's political rabblerousing in the 70s included active protesting against the war and a controversial trip to communist North Vietnam, which earned her enmity throughout the country, especially among conservatives, which lingers to this day.

"She is as guilty of treason as Benedict Arnold and Tokyo Rose,'' Republican Sen. John Douglas declared.

Douglas is reportedly drafting a bill that would crush Fonda with a giant boulder should she ever return to the state.
