Five-Star Accommodations

If your company likes to put you up in the most luxurious spots in town, Atlanta can certainly oblige with many options. In downtown and Buckhead in particular (but really throughout Atlanta), you can find hotels that offer everything from fine dining to architectural beauty to history to luxurious amenities.

Great accommodations in Atlanta start downtown, where part of the luxury is the short walk you will have to Atlanta’s business conference centers and top tourist sites. You can’t beat the location at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center, in which you stay in the complex that houses CNN’s headquarters. Nearby is the Hyatt Regency, which is part of Peachtree Center and was the first contemporary atrium hotel in the world. The atrium still takes your breath away. A third downtown hotel is the Westin Peachtree Plaza, which has the revolving Sun Dial restaurant at its skyscraping peak.

In Buckhead (and in its second location downtown), the Ritz-Carlton is probably your best bet for luxury. Like downtown, Buckhead also has a luxurious Westin and Hyatt hotel. Buckhead also has its own original contributions to Atlanta’s luxury hotel scene, including the two-year-old InterContinental and the W Atlanta.

Outside of downtown and Buckhead, Midtown Atlanta is your best option for luxurious accommodations. The Georgian Terrace in Midtown is just across the street from historic Fox Theater and is historic itself, earning a place on the national historic registry. A second excellent Midtown option is the towering Sheraton at Colony Square.

Finally, there are several great hotels near the airport, where you could spend your whole trip without traveling downtown. The Hilton Atlanta Airport and the Renaissance Concourse are luxurious hotels that, among other amenities, offer free transportation to the airport and soundproof windows so that the scores of planes landing and taking off won’t interrupt your sleep.
