» Why might I want a game room?
Game rooms did not often appear in homes until the last quarter-century, but today many new homes have game rooms, and many old homes have been remodeled to add a game room. Instead of going to an arcade or a sports bar, people want to stay home, and because they don’t feel comfortable playing air hockey in their living room, they want a game room.
Many parents utilize game rooms to connect with their children and their children’s friends. Game rooms, after all, allow parents and children to have fun together. In addition, teenagers often congregate at homes with a game room, so parents who have a game room are often more likely to know their children’s friends and to help keep their own children safe at home.
Game rooms also serve adults, however, and provide a relaxed atmosphere for men and women to enjoy recreation together. The traditional guys’ night out can be far more than a round of poker; it can include billiards, darts, and more, all without leaving your home.
