Just like in the story of Goldie Locks and the Three Bears you want your mattress to fit you just right. A mattress that is too small might hinder the rest you get. Listed below are the sizes mattresses come in.

·        Twin Mattress: Twin sized mattresses are typically 38” X 75” in size. Although you can also find oversized twin mattresses. A twin mattress is best for an individual sleeper such as a young child or teenager. They can be used by adults but may not be the most comfortable choice. You can expect to pay between $80 and $1,200 for a twin mattress depending on the type of mattress you choose.

·        Full Mattress: A full mattress also referred to as a double mattress usually come 53” X 75” in size. There are exceptions to this though and they are an extra large full mattress. The measurements for those extra large full mattresses are only slightly bigger however. Full size mattresses are usually best for older children or teenagers. Also smaller adults who sleep alone. Some couples choose to sleep on full mattresses although they usually do not provide enough room for two adults to sleep comfortably. It has been said that if a full sized mattresses is shared it only provides the average adult 27 inches of personal space which is equal to the amount of room found in a baby crib. ·        Queen Mattress: Queen mattresses are 60” X 80”. While only 7 inches wider and 5 inches longer than a full size mattress these extra inches make a world of difference in terms of comfort. This small difference in size has made queen mattresses the most popular among couples today; providing each person 30 inches of personal space. Queen mattresses are wonderful choices for a guest room, a smaller bedroom, or for those couples who prefer to sleep close together. If you plan on purchasing a queen mattress you can expect to pay from $350 to $2,500.

·        King Mattress: King mattresses on average are 18 inches wider than queen mattresses. Typically measuring 76” X 80” a king mattress provides a couple the amount of personal space that each of them would have had in their own individual twin bed. King size mattresses are perfect for mater bedrooms where couples prefer a lot of personal sleeping space. Prices for king mattresses typically range from $350 and $3,000.

·        California King Mattress: California kings are 72” X 84”. Making them 4 inches narrower than king size mattresses but 4 inches longer. They are also good choices for master bedrooms. California kings can be purchased for $400 to $3,300.
