Marketing and Promoting Your Book

Your goal as a self-publisher is to get your book out there for the general public to buy and read. Large chain bookstores are often hesitant to deal with self-publishers. Search for catalogs that might be interested in your book. Take a sample copy to your local bookstore and ask them to read your book. Check back in a few days and ask for orders and for a book signing promotion. You may even be able to interest your local library in marketing your book as being written by a local author if you donate the book.

There is a lot written on the Internet to help you find ways to market and sell your work. Take the time to do plenty of research before beginning your marketing process.
