Paris is one of the most recognizable cities in the world. The city is famous for several things and among them the romance that evokes the French city as well as the strong influence it has had on the world of fashion. Paris is the capitol city of France as well as the largest city in the country with an estimated population of more than 9 million residents in the urban areas of the city. Paris is a world leader in culture, fashion, arts, architecture, and politics. Paris was given the nickname of “The City of Lights” during the 19th century.
Located in north central France on the banks of the Seine River, Paris is host to more than 30 million visitors each year. The city offers several museums, shopping, nightlife, and restaurants to travelers that visit. Perhaps the most recognizable part of Paris is the Eiffel Tower which sits on the banks of the Seine River and stretches 324 meters high.
