Brittany is located on France’s northwestern coast. It has some 800 miles of rocky shoreline, and it is famous for its Celtic heritage. Some residents still speak the ancient Gaelic tongues of Wales and Ireland. It is also known a vacation destination for French residents. It is far more accessible and affordable than the more jet-set oriented French Riviera.
The northern coast of Normandy will always be associated with the famous D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. There are numerous memorials to visit, and you can also check out famous landing sites such as Omaha Beach and Utah Beach.
