Alsace is located on the eastern border of France, adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. It is primarily known for its great food and delicious wine. It has old villages, medieval towns, and plenty of folklore to entertain its visitors. It is also home to France’s only semblance of wilderness, the Vosges forest. Neighboring Lorraine is the birthplace of Joan of Arc.
Located in the eastern/central part of the country, and anchored by the wonderful old city of Dijon, Burgundy is one of France’s most idyllic regions. It is internationally famous for its vineyards and wineries, many of which can be toured. One of the most popular, and quintessentially French, dishes is named after the region: Beef Burgundy.
