France is internationally renown for its wine production, and some of the world’s best vineyards are located on French soil. Many of the vineyards and wineries are available for tour, and they often include samples of the vino afterwards.
Alsace is located on the eastern border of France, adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. It has old villages, medieval towns, and plenty of folklore to entertain its visitors. Located in the eastern/central part of the country, and anchored by the wonderful old city of Dijon, Burgundy is one of France’s most idyllic regions.
Encompassing the southeastern portion of the country, the Rhone Valley’s most famous city is Lyon. The most prominent wine city in the Atlantic Coast is Bordeaux, Others include Cognac and Sauternes, famous for the fact that they produce the spirits that bear their names.
