You can play about any kind of fantasy sport you want. Many web sites offer free leagues in baseball, basketball, football, hockey, golf, NASCAR, and many others. You can also find web sites that offer paying leagues in these sports and others. In leagues in which you pay to play, there is generally some kind of prize for the champion at the end of the season, and perhaps even for the second and third place winners. Paying sites also usually include some extra bonus, like giving you the ability to track the performance of the players on your team right as they are happening.
There are an enormous number of web sites that offer fantasy leagues. The most popular is Yahoo!, which offers a huge selection of both free and paying leagues. Here is a list of other sites where you can play fantasy sports:
www.espn.com,
www.cbssportsline.com,
www.cnnsi.com,
www.sandbox.com,
www.foxsports.com,
www.tsn.com, and many (literally thousands) of others. The ones listed here are the most reputable and most reliable. Sites will make you sign up for an account, which is usually free, before you can participate in fantasy sports at that particular site.
