West Point Island is west of West Falkland and is separated by the Wooly Cut channel. This small island is also run as a sheep farm. The highest point on the island is Mount Misery and a settlement and airstrip are in the northeast. Here you can see: rockhopper penguins, black-browed albatrosses, and Commerson’s dolphins. This island was originally known as Albatross Island and previously was a popular site for slaughtering seals and penguins for oil.
