The city of Stanley is the capital of the Falkland Islands and a port city. Stanley is obviously the main center of the Falklands since you either live in Stanley or you live “in camp” if you live anywhere else in the islands. Stanley has a population of only 1989 so that makes it the smallest and most remote capital in the world. It can be described as an English village but also has a Government House, a Cathedral, and many amenities. The city was built on a north-facing slope to catch sun throughout the year and looks across Stanley harbor.
