Port Howard is another sheep farming settlement. The forty or so inhabitants care for approximately 42,000 sheep and 800 cattle. This attractive location is a great place to experience “camp” life. The settlement has a lodge which is attached to a small museum which contains relics from the 1982 conflict. Visitors can learn all about sheep farming in addition to riding and walking. Port Howard is also well known for sea trout fishing on the Warrah and Chartres rivers.
