If you have decided that Pilates is something you’d like to try but aren’t sure if a machine or a DVD exercise program is best for you here are a few things to help you decide.

·        Available Space: If space is an issue for you then maybe a DVD regimen is best for you. The only necessary accessory needed to go along with a DVD is a mat. It is dependant on your personal preference whether you choose to add other accessories.
·        Budget: It is always best to know your budget before shopping. Deciding how much you can allow yourself to spend on Pilates equipment will help you make your purchase.
·        Structure: If structure is something that you need in your exercise routine a DVD program can offer you that. However if you prefer the option to switch up the structure of your exercise program a Pilates machine could be ideal for you.
·        Commitment: If you own a vast collection of exercise DVD’s or you have old exercise equipment that is spilling out of your closet a small investment would probably be the best thing for you. Whether that investment is on a DVD or an inexpensive machine.
