Are you looking for a way to shed some of those after-baby pounds? Are you anxious to get back into your old exercise routine and want to take baby along with you? If so, you might be interested in purchasing a jogging stroller to add to your collection of baby gear.

Jogging strollers are the safest way to run with baby. They differ from standard strollers by their unique design – they have two wheels in the back and one in the front, a sleek and lightweight frame and good suspension and shock absorption so baby is sure to have a smooth ride. Although jogging strollers are made specifically for exercise, they do have some of the same great convenience features as regular strollers such as storage compartments, cup holders and reclining seats. They also fold up easily for quick storage. It is important to note, however, that jogging strollers are built for speed, not handling, which can make them hard to maneuver in the grocery store or shopping mall.

Jogging strollers are meant to be used with babies at least six months of age – a time when babies have developed head, neck and back muscle control. Although jogging strollers set out to minimize the bumpiness of a jogging trail, an infant with immature muscles can be jarred which could result in injury. Most jogging strollers are designed to hold up to 75 pounds, although some hold more and some hold less. This means you can use your jogging stroller well into the toddler years.
