When men and women exercise, it is generally for the purpose of staying in shape and being healthy. However, more often than women, men try to build bigger muscles. For this reason, a lot of men like to wear tight fitting and/or cut off sleeved shirts when they are engaging in fitness activities. This way, they can look at or show off the muscles they are building. This also keeps them cooler while they are exercising and breaking a sweat. However, this does not apply to all men, and generally guys choose to wear regular t-shirts or cut off sleeved shirts to work out in. Depending on your own comfort, the shirts can be either baggy or tight fitting. There is no “right” way for your shirt to fit. Also, some men choose to wear tank top style of shirts to keep cool.

It is most important to make sure you are comfortable in what you are wearing when exercising. Obviously, clothing like slacks, ties, jeans, and dress shoes are not appropriate or comfortable to work out in due to the materials they are made out of. Fitness wear comes in different materials that stretch and move with your body in a comfortable way. This way, it is much easier for you to engage in physical activity and be more mobile with your body movements and stretches. Depending on the exercise, men wear either fitness shorts or fitness pants to work out in. When it comes to long distance running or sprinting, men will generally wear shorts that are cut somewhat shorter than the average shorts for more mobility and speed. When engaging in sports, weightlifting, or conditioning, most men wear longer shorts or fitness pants because they are generally more comfortable with that appearance.
