Business owner Ellie Ruiz has founded a children's exercise gym in an effort to help stem the mounting problem of obesity in the United States.

Everything in the Just Get Moving! gym facility is designed for children, with focus on promoting athletic activities at a young age. Ruiz hopes that by instilling athletic habits early, children will be much less likely to suffer from the sedentary life of adulthood, where high blood pressure and obesity take their toll.

Everything in the athletic facility is designed to be child-specific. Kid in Shape, a California-based fitness organization, is the distributor of children's exercise equipment. All the equipment possesses sensors which correct posture and a 50-lb weight maximum.

I like the idea of getting to them while they're young, but the concept of a bunch of super-buff children running around throwing javelins and bench-pressing more than me is also a little disturbing.

Here's another good article on the topic.
