All of the above suggestions can be helpful here as well. If it helps you to discuss ideas and projects with others, for example, chances are it is helping them as well. The principles for learning generally do not change from one person to another. Expand their capacity for brain fuel and then provide them with food for thought.

In order to expand their capacity for brain fuel, try to recognize the learning needs of your co-workers and employees. Not everyone has the same learning style—some people learn by seeing, others learn by listening or by experiencing. Ask them how they learn best, and then try and give them the particular brand of brain fuel they need.

With this in mind, give some brief learning instruction to co-workers and employees. Go over some of the basics of how to improve memory or basic healthy lifestyle practices that can increase learning. Send them to a learning seminar to learn some of these basics. If you are involved in training, try alternative methods of teaching, such as role-play or reading instead of lecture, and see if that helps trainees to learn better.

Instill some purpose in what employees are learning or doing. Most people work better if they have a sense of a final goal or feel a sense of purpose in what they are doing. Try to show the project’s relevance to their daily life. Clearly define the goal and the purpose, and then see how they get there. A clear understanding of the project is brain fuel for their creativity and determination.
