Ladies on the Go

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor's recent report, women entrepreneurs use the same business strategies as men - taking risks, finding opportunities, communicating with other entrepreneurs, and honing their business acumen.

Nonetheless, a gender gap exists in business activity around the globe.

Women most likely to be entrepreneurs are those who already hold jobs and have higher levels of income and education. On average, however, men remain twice as likely as women to start a new business. GEM's only comment on the data was that as a country's GNI increases, the gender gap narrows, so the data may only infer that there are lower opportunities in the more impoverished countries. Duh.
