There is a saying that you have to take calculated risks to succeed in life. Do this and you will find riches beyond what you can imagine waiting for you on the other side. The basically thing to do when you are confronted with any type of decision that may prove risky is to ask yourself this question: “What is the worst thing that can happen if I go forward and do it?” You’ll be surprised at the answer.
 
It is also best to do the following:
 
  • Avoid the intelligence trap. Don’t think you know it all because you don’t. Take the time to learn new things. By growing in wisdom will help you run your business better and give you better chances for success.  
  • Be open and teachable. You need to have an open mind to accept new possibilities.
  • Be curious. Look at everything with passion and curiosity. This will instill in you the desire to move forward in anticipation of completing your task at hand.
  • Be flexible. Don’t be afraid to change your mind or actions when you need to. This is the mark of a successful businessman when you adjust your thinking or actions in line with your true projected goals.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Like I stated above, you don’t know everything. Ask for help when needed. This will carry you over and you will learn from the experience and mature as well.
