What Can DSS Not Do

Home » Enterprise Software » Decision Support Systems » What Can DSS Not Do

Even though DSSs can help you make decisions based on questions you input into the system or data that is available in all databases, there are some things to take into consideration. You may put too much emphasis into a DSS, thinking it will solve all your problems. This is false reasoning, because if you as a manager get the correct data you need but make a bad decision anyway, it is not the fault of the DSS. Or you may enter wrong questions to begin with, resulting in bad data. This could create difficulty within the organization, because so many people rely on DSSs to give the company direction. So if you were to misuse a DSS, you would really create problems for the company.
