The Heart of Data Management

Because managers use different kinds of systems in an organization, there is data for that system that may not be available for another system. As managers create and use data, more will be stored and updated, and stored again. As this data is stored, there is no basis for organizing, sorting, or managing the data. Because business depends on quality data to operate affectively, it is even more important that data be kept interoperable so that the supply chain does not get interrupted. Plus, all data has to be kept under regulatory compliance at all times. The hard part is designing a system that will do this because each application cares only for the portion of the data that is needed. This is what causes inconsistent and unreliable data.

 

Data management changes all this for it provides timely, consistent, and secure handling of data and presents it under one roof so it can be obtained at any time and used for what it was intended. This way there are no inconsistencies whatsoever in accessing data or using it. Any system that is used to draw documents, all the data will be available not just some. This way more detail can be drawn than was possible before.
