What Dimmers are Available

Now comes the time to shop for dimmers. With so many available it is hard to choose. Here are some common ones you may want to take a look at. Then you can make an intelligent decision as to which way to go:

·        Lutron Maestro Smart Dimmer: The Lutron Maestro Smart Dimmer can handle up to 600 Watts. To adjust the dimmer you simply press the rocker. It has LEDs to indicate the light level. This dimmer also comes in 1000 watts. Face plate is not included with the model. The price for this unit is $42.  

·        Lutron Nova T Dimmer: The Lutron Nova T uses 600 Watts of power. You can control the amount of lighting by simply hitting the slider. This one includes the face plate. It also comes in 1000, 1500, and 1950 Watts. The price for this dimmer is $40.

·        Lutron Spacer System Dimmer: This space saver dimmer comes with an integrated IR receiver and side LEDs to indicate light level. It comes in 600 Watts. It also comes in 1000 Watts. This one works when the master control sends an infrared signal to the dimmer. The price for this dimmer is $90.

·        Lutron Skylark Dimmer: The Lutron Skylark dimmer can handle up to 600 Watts. You select light level by adjusting the slide switch up or down. The face plate is not included. The price for this one is $17.

·        Lutron Tabletop Manual Lamp Dimmer: If you are only looking for a portable table lamp, this is a good choice. It comes in black and is easy to install. Just plug the lamp into dimmer and dimmer into receptacle. The dimmer comes with a six foot cable so you are not restricted to having it right under the lamp. This one also comes in white and sells for $18.

·        Lutron Remote-Compatible Table Lamp Dimmer: If you like portability but also like using a remote control for your lamp intensity, this will do it. It is like the dimmer above, the only thing is it comes with a remote control unit. It sells for $90.
