El Salvador is located in Central America. Surrounded by Honduras, Guatemala, and the Pacific Ocean, most of the country is comprised of volcanic uplands. The country is marked by two nearly parallel rows of volcanoes along its topography. It is made up of 8124 square miles, and the population, as of 2002, was 6,517, 300. Roman Catholicism dominates the religion of the country, comprising 78% of the total population. The official language of the people of El Salvador is Spanish, although English is widely spoken.

The capital of the country is San Salvador, which sits 2240 feet above sea level. It is the second largest city in Central America. San Salvador offers guests an eclectic variety of style, as it is a combination of modern buildings and colonial architecture, monuments, shopping centers, and amusement parks. In addition, the country boasts 200 miles of Pacific coastline speckled with unblemished beaches, resort hotels, pine views, and fishing villages. The best resorts can be discovered along the Costa del Sol, which is easily reachable by means of a modern highway.

El Salvador can also be proud of its food market in San Salvador. It is one of the largest in Central America, and offers a huge variety of produce. In addition, the restaurants in the city offer a large assortment of international cuisines including French, Chinese, and Mexican. The people of the San Salvador enjoy cinemas, nightclubs, and cocktail lounges.
