The tiny country of El Salvador experiences a hot, subtropical climate influenced by altitude. El Salvador enjoys very hot temperatures the whole year long with temperatures averaging from 31-32°C. At night the temperature drops to the comfortable high teens. The coastal regions of El Salvador are especially hot, with a rainy season occurring between May and October. The upland regions experience a cooler, milder climate. The middle months of El Salvador receive significant, heavy rainfall, while the dry season reaches its zenith between January and February. For those traveling to El Salvador, waterproof clothing is recommended all year round. In addition, warmer clothing should be packed for those going to the higher altitudes of El Salvador.
