El Salvador is home to a great variety of attractions. The many different regions of El Salvador have much to offer. Below is a list of various attractions one can enjoy while visiting El Salvador:

• Joya de Ceren Archaeological Site: Located in San Salvador, the Joya de Ceren Archaeological Site is the location of a pre-Columbian Mayan farming village. The village, known as the "Jewel of the Ceren", was buried under a volcanic eruption around 1400 years ago and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Ilobasco Village: This mountain village is notorious for its expert craftwork and its beauty. Ilobasco Village is located northeast of San Salvador.
• Arbol de Dios Gallery and Shop: At the Arbol de Dios Gallery and Shop visitors can observe and purchase works from one of El Salvador's most famous artists, Fernando Llort.
• Catedral Metropolitana: This is the principal landmark of San Salvador, and the burial location of Archbishop Oscar Romero. The Catedral Metropolitana stands facing the major plaza, the Plaza Barrios.
• Montecristo Cloud Forest: The region where the limits of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras meet receives 80 inches of precipitation a year, ascends to an elevation of 7900 feet, and encounters 100% humidity. This is the perfect setting for a cloud forest. In the Montecristo Cloud Forest, visitors will observe laurel and oak trees that grow to 98 feet, and their leaves create a canopy that will not allow the sunlight to break through. Guests can expect to see uncommon wildlife such as the protected spider monkeys, pumas, toucans, and two-fingered anteaters. The Montecristo Cloud Forest is located in the Parque Nacional Montecristo-El Trifinio, northeast of Metapán.
• San Andrés Region: Located near the capital, the fertile soil in this region once housed Mayan settlements. Here the architectural wonder of the acropolis is a focal point.
• Jardin Botanico La Laguna: An attractive garden found in San Salvador. Jardin Botanico La Laguna was erected on what was previously a swamp at the foundation of a volcanic crater.
• El Imposible National Park: This National Park is El Salvador's most integral ecological reserve. Here at the El Imposible National Park, diverse fauna and vegetation provide a safe haven for numerous bird and wildlife species, including the uncommon Black Hawk Eagle.
• San Sebastian Village: Located approximately one hour from San Salvador, this village is recognized for its stunning woven materials. Found near Lake Ilopang, the largest lake in El Salvador, San Sebastian Village is bordered by mountains and volcanoes. This village is a common destination for watersports' and outdoor buffs.
• Cerro Verde National Park: This National Park is home to the infamous and beautiful Lake Coatepeque, which rests on top of a volcanic crater. Cerro Verde National Park is also the location of the extinct volcano, Cerro Verde. The volcano is easily accessible to visitors.
• Panchimalco: Located 9 miles south of San Salvador, Panchimalco is home to the Pancho Indians. The Pancho Indians are pureblooded ancestors of the first Pipil tribes, and they hold on to many of their ancient traditions and dress.
