• One temple that is really worth seeing is the Temple of Amun. Known as a major figurehead in the society, this temples located in Luxor was built during the 18th dynasty which dates back between 1554 – 1305 bc and was and still is known as one of the most outstanding temples throughout Egypt. Throughout Luxor there are many great Temples that are waiting to be seen because within this area, the Temple of Amun is just one you can see. Apart from this, you could be treated to sights of the famous chamber of Tutankhamen or paying a visit to the renowned Valley of the Kings to see a wide variety of the pharaoh’s tombs that were buried many centuries ago.

• One attraction that comes highly recommended is a visit to the Khan Al – Khalili bazaar found in the centre of Cairo, it is very popular amongst tourists but this is one area where locals can enjoy themselves too and there is a great range of homemade arts and crafts that can be purchased which will find pride of place in the home and will make a great reminder of your perfect trip to Egypt. It is said to be a typical tourist trap but as an area, it has been highly recommended and if you decide it is not for you, there are plenty of other areas to visit throughout the regions.

• There are many cruises along the famous Nile that can last for days on end but then there are others available which can be just for the one day and it doesn’t reduce in the quality of the experience because with the outstanding views and wildlife, this is one trip you certainly won’t forget. It is best when you first arrive to look out for such a trip because there may be some that need booking ahead and to prevent disappointment, I suggest finding out the vital information and making a booking before your holiday because you can never be too prepared. If you decide not to take the full cruise which does last for several days then there is the option of having a one day cruise from Luxor the Hathor’s Temple in Dendera. It is a very well preserved piece of history and on your arrival, you will have a pick me up breakfast and whilst travelling down the Nile, you are treated to the famous landscape views surrounding the area. When the ship arrives at the temple then you along with a small tour will be taken round with a fully qualified guide and this Greek/Roman style temple is definitely worth the trip and then it is back on the ships for dinner whilst heading south and taking in those breathtaking views once more where you will be arriving just in time to see the sun set over Luxor.
• If you are feeling brave and want to visit the area, then take a trip to the Bahariya oasis because there are a number of tombs that belong to mummies that were buried long ago and whilst this will not be for everyone, it is one part of history that many enjoy and a visit gives you the chance to learn more about the history of mummification. It may surprise you to know that there are around 10,000 mummies that have been uncovered and due to the high amount, it does make a lot of visitors ask the question, are there any more? The cemetery covers a 2000 square kilometre area you will not just come across mummies, there is a range of birds that are natural to the area and you may see a number of hot springs in the area but if you want to see the best one nearby then if you travel about 10 miles north east, you will find the Bir al-Ghaba which is said to be the best spring in the local area. For budding archaeologists, nearby, you will be able to see the ruins of a 17th century Dynasty temple and settlement that were uncovered years ago and nearby tombs where it is said that variety types of birds have been buried.
