Because of the convenient division of the country into four regions, you will have an opportunity to experience all the beautiful country has to offer. We’ll plan each day for you, but feel free to mix and match the activities we have planned to customize your vacation. We hope you enjoy your trip to this gorgeous South American country!

Day One
We’re going to work from east to west across the country, so your journey will begin in the oriente region. This region is made up of the gorgeous Amazonian Rainforest, so bring your raincoat! Today you can take a tour of the rainforest with a guide who can show you the country’s amazing wildlife and flora. Enjoy the sites!

Day Two
Almost as opposite as you can get from day one, today you will spend touring Quito, the capital of Ecuador. This city, with a population of about 2 million, has some fantastic sites to see. A couple things you won’t want to miss include the Museo del Banco Central, a beautiful display of native Ecuadorian art and history, and El Panecillo, an enormous hill in the middle of the city with a lovely monument of the Virgin Mary.

Day Three
Continuing to work westward, you’ll spend this day in the sierra region, the mountainous central part of the country. Take a hike in the Andes, paying special attention to the beautifully marked valley created by the two local ranges of the Andes in this area. While you’re in the central part of the country, look into finding the equator and standing with one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and one foot in the Southern!

Day Four
The central region of the country is worth a week’s time, but we’ll just spend two days here. Take the time today to visit one of the area’s national parks. Cotopaxi National Park is home to the world’s second highest active volcano, while the Cuyamba Coco Ecological Reserve contains over 10 million acres of rainforest. The Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve is the world’s largest and most diverse bird sanctuary, and Chimborazo National Park is home of Ecuador’s highest point, Mount Chimborazo. These are some of the most beautiful sites in the entire country.

Day Five
As you approach the west coast of Ecuador, you’ll want to check out the fascinating and lovely beaches along the way. Take this day to head to some of the local beaches and enjoy the cool Pacific. Partake of whatever activity tickles your fancy: swimming, tanning, sailing, surfing, shelling, or fishing!

Day Six
Now to the second city stop on your journey, Guayaquil, the famous seaport city on the far west coast. Guayaquil is known for its world famous architecture, which is being copied by architects all around the world. Spend the first part of today in Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city, before grabbing an overnight cruise to the Galapagos Islands, the final region.

Day Seven
You’ll have plenty of time today to tour the Galapagos Islands, one of the most beautiful areas in all South America. These islands, like the Hawaiian Islands, have been developed by underwater volcanoes and are continuing to expand eastward. This is your last day of vacation, so enjoy your stay and partake in some of your favorite pastimes before heading to the airport early in the morning!

We hope you enjoy your vacation in this breathtaking South American country.
