When you are working with your website and dealing with managing it you need to keep certain things in mind. You need to avoid falling into certain traps including these:

·        Not knowing: If you don’t know what your site is to achieve, how are you going to manage it. You need to know what the purpose of your site is so you can better manage it.
·        Bad design: Your site is supposed to be designed with your visitor’s needs in mind, not as a center piece for your own business. This means you cannot place your mission statement, photos of the CEO, or other executives, or even corporate history on the home page. This page is only used to inform the public about your site and what you do as a company.
·        Outsourcing new business: If you outsource your web design and management needs to more than one business all the time, you will end up with many different versions of the website, which won’t work. Your site won’t be coherent. You need to go with one company only.
·        No maintenance plan: If you set aside enough money to design your site but don’t set aside money for maintenance, you are heading for trouble. For you won’t have the ability to keep your site maintained.
