When you build web pages, you want to do it as easy as possible, especially if you do it for a living and need speed because of deadlines. But even if you are new to web design, you still will find designing web pages so much easier when you have templates to guide you. Just what is a template? It is a page that has the background and fonts already defined and set up. The size of the fonts is also set up and in place. In some templates you may find navigation buttons and logos as part of the template.

 

If you view different templates you will find they all have one thing in common. That is the template is a theme for the site plus other features thrown in. This is why may web designers use templates because it makes the work faster. You can find templates for your HTML editor online. When you look for templates look for the following:

 

·        Their website’s portfolio: If they don’t have one, go to the next site. You don’t want to get one and find it clashes with what you have.

·        Technical support: Check to see if they provide technical support. What if something goes wrong and you need to speak to someone right away?

·        Compatibility: When looking for a template, make sure it works with your HTML editor. For example, if you use FrontPage, make sure it works with FrontPage.
