» Web Design Resources Overview
You just came from your friend’s place where he introduced you to his computer and showed you his awesome website. You see how he had it set up and you are amazed by what he did. He has become successful online and he brags about it. You walk away from his house and as you go back home to start thinking about your friend’s website and how you would like to develop a website to. The only problem is you have no website, no way of creating web pages, nor the knowledge of how to do it. What can you do? There are many people in the same boat. They want to get online but they don’t have a website. Plus, they don’t even know how to create web pages. How can you, along with all others like you get online? The best way is to learn what it takes to create web pages, or do research and find web design resources that can help you. You can either find people who can do it for you or learn to do it yourself. Either way here are areas of web design you will need to know:
· HTML: The very foundation of any web page is HTML (HyperText Markup Language). HTML is what browsers use to display images and text on your screen. Without HTML, you would not see anything on the screen, except many garbled words or sentences running together.
· Java/JavaScript: This is not vital to have but it does spruce up a web page by providing it additional functionality that a normal web page may not give. For example, a JavaScript program or piece of code can take images and change them on the fly.
· META Tags: META Tags are important in web pages because they tell the search engines about your web pages and what is on them. Search engines use this information to rank your website.
· Templates: When designing web pages templates are so useful. They help cut your time down in creating web page quite a bit. When you use a template a lot of your work is done. You don’t have to worry about a lot of it since certain elements are already filled in.
· Graphics: If you go to a website you will sport images on the page. These are known as graphics. Graphics add a pleasant atmosphere to the web page and in cases provide that good touch to make the web page stand out.
· ECommerce: For businesses, eCommerce is what their website is all about. That’s because they sell products or services on their site. ECommerce may consist of different elements from shopping carts to special forms.
