As you do business online, you have customers who purchase from you. Everyday you make sells from customers who visit your site and purchase something from you. As they do so they leave their billing information. As more customers do that the amount of customers and information accumulates. After a while you will have a whole database full of customers who came to you and bought something. This is good because you make money. On the other hand, it is bad because you start collecting a huge list and eventually that list becomes hard to manage. What can you do to avoid this? Work with someone or use software by someone that deals in eCommerce CRM (Customer Relationship Management). What exactly is eCommerce CRM? Before you know the answers to these questions consider some information about eCommerce CRM and CRM in particular:

·        ECommerce: Before you know anything about eCommerce CRM you need to know what it is. If these two terms were split apart, we would consider each in turn like this:
o       Shopping carts – Shopping carts make purchasing easy. You just simply decide what you want and click the Add to Cart button.
o       User registration – In most cases, for the customer to buy from you he or she needs to register so as to establish an account.
o       Inventory management – This is used if there are literally products that are sold and a system has to be in place to count what was sold against what was in inventory. This way the inventory is counted correctly.
·        CRM (Customer Relationship Management): CRM is used to help manage the customer list as it grows over time. There are many things involved with CRM including managing names, what they purchased, and more. There are two types of CRM: local and remote. More will be covered below.
