» Tuning Your Drum Set
Now you bought the drum set and you are anxious to try it out but you have to make sure the drum gives the quality sound it is suppose to. Remember, when adjusting for the right tune, you are not going by a book, just what your ear hears. Here are the tips you can use to tune your drum set:
· Notice the square headed screw around the top and bottom rims of the drum. These are tension rods or screws. Take what is known as a drum key and turn it until the surfaced is tight. The tighter the drumhead the more bounce you will get along with a higher pitch.
· Take your snare drum and turn it over. Notice the strands of wire. These wires are known as snares. There should be a screw apparatus, along with a flip lever, on one side the drum. This screw apparatus is known as a strainer. Just tighten or loosen until you get the desired tonal quality you want from it.
All drums are adjusted in this matter. Always consider the fact you are the one using the drums, so you want to make sure the sound is to your liken. Adjust them accordingly until you get them just the way you want.
