The most common yeast infection is the vaginal yeast infection suffered by three out of four women at some point in their lives. This infection is causes by the natural yeast in the vagina growing too much. Often, this yeast problem has been helped in developing by the patient’s taking antibiotics, the fact that they have diabetes, or by improper cleaning.
However, yeast infections can be also passed from one person to another during sexual intercourse (male and female), so it is possible for men to suffer from a yeast infection, too, especially if he is a diabetic or is uncircumcised. Still, a male yeast infection is a relatively minor problem and can be very easily treated with antifungal creams and ointments.
