Sunglasses that are impact resistant can be used in place of motocross goggles.

Advantages of Sunglasses: Some riders may believe that it is more aesthetically appealing to wear sunglasses rather than goggles. A rider may also already own a pair of sunglass thereby avoiding purchasing additional eye protection. Sunglasses may also take the place of tinted goggles if you desire to only purchase non-tinted goggles. They may be used when the sun is bright and some pairs can even be used under a pair of non-tinted goggles.

Disadvantages of Sunglasses: Sunglasses are not as safe as goggles. Most pairs of sunglasses do not keep wind or dust out of a rider’s eyes. Sunglasses are also not a flexible as goggles and may break during a wreck.
