Each digital camera uses some device to allow the picture taker to see the image before the picture is taken. In most cases this is a preview screen or viewfinder. In a good digital camera, the preview screen or viewfinder will be of such good quality to provide a better picture.
Preview screens are small LCD displays. These LCD displays are built into the camera. When you look for a camera with that type of feature, the LCD display is usually listed in inches and are about two to three inches in size.
Another feature of preview screens is the fact images can be displayed after being taken. This way if you find an image you don’t like, you can delete the image.
Most new cameras have viewfinders. You will recognize them because they unfold just before you are ready to take your picture. One advantage to having a viewfinder is it doesn’t use much battery power as preview screens.
