The way the camera shoots pictures and video is the primary reason for having a digital video camera. You wouldn’t want one that does not capture objects and scenes correctly. This would defect the purpose for having a digital camera. The other purpose is for shooting scenes or objects any time, especially at night.

If you look at the majority of digital video cameras, you will see they do have a feature that allows for night shooting. The techniques involved include shutter speed and infrared. With using shutter speed, this allows more light on the CCD, thereby giving you more light to compensate for nighttime shooting. The only side effect with this method is that more light may be needed to adjust for other conditions. And this may cause the footage to less than spectacular.

The other option is in using infrared. This provides you with greenish footage but you get it in full motion. The only thing about this is everything is in shades of green or gray. But this is necessary since at night the camera can only work in pitch blackness with an infrared light source. The good thing about using infrared is its invisible.
