The hardest part is choosing the right digital camera that will meet your needs. You don’t want just any camera. You want one that will provide what you are looking for in a digital camera. Before you go on the Internet and search for your next digital camera there are things you should know regarding how to choose a digital camera:

• Effective pixels: Every digital camera works off of so many pixels. The more pixels the better the image will be. If the camera uses a linear sensor to capture the image by using either a spatial or optical movement, the number of effective pixels should be carefully noted.
• Total pixels: This is the number of pixels on the image sensor. These include all pixel areas including ring and optical black areas.
• Recorded pixels: This is the number of pixels that make up the picture. Another way of thinking of this is resolution. An example of a number of recorded pixels might be 640 x 480.
• Reseller rank: Whatever company you choose to go with, you must check the ranking of the reseller. How do you know which one is good or bad until you check? You can check a reseller’s ranking by going to www.resellerratings.com.
• Do price comparison shopping: Besides checking out the company, check their pricing against other know companies. Their products should be comparatively priced.
• Look for packaging: When you go to buy a digital camera make sure everything is included in the package. This means you should get a battery charger, lens cap, batteries, flash memory card, and software. If this is not included ask for one or go somewhere else.
