As with many Scandinavian countries Viking resided throughout areas like Denmark and they lived in the area for many centuries from the 8th to the 11th century A.D.

Vikings were always known to cause havoc and during this time, it was the same during this period but was adequate traders and it is very possible that this helped Denmark in the further centuries to follow as a major trading and exporting outpost.

Top Fact: During this period, Denmark was proved to be a great power and despite past differences King Canute successful managed to unite Denmark and Britain for over 30 years and this was a major step forward but unfortunately, after the King’s death England broke away from Danish control and this is when the Vikings started to invade Denmark regularly.
