As they say, every city has to start somewhere, even if it is only a couple of developments with a few families and for Denmark the history books started on this nation in 430 AD.

Just 13 years later in 443 AD the Huns threatened to invade such places like Denmark and this was lead by infamous King – known as Attila the Hun, he was known for his extreme brutality but this was not to happen however Denmark and neighbouring towns and communities were to fall victim to many wars.

Waldermar II set out to conquer many Scandinavian cities such as Estonia and several others but shortly after this, a civil war broke out which caused many disruptions amongst the royal government. It was Waldemar IV and his daughter Margaret I that created the Kalmar Union which included Sweden, Denmark and other neighbouring cities. Several of the cities later revolted but the union which started in the 14th century, managed to eke out until 1814.
