Originally known as Kiopmanhafn, Copenhagen was founded in 1167 by Archbishop Absalon which is known as a major trader’s port.
Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and is also the largest city in the whole of Scandinavia. It homes over 1.2 million people and the great city offers a wide range of educational elements, research and development. Copenhagen is a popular choice for holidaymakers because it is rich with history and is almost economically sound.
Top Fact: Due to Copenhagen’s location, the city has been named as the most efficient country in terms of its distribution and apart from this factor, the Resund area offers up to 60% of all Scandinavia’s medical resources. It is not all economy, there are plenty of medieval buildings and it is a great all-rounder for visitors and locals alike.
