AM and PM Activities

When visiting Denmark, they say no two days are the same and in this excellent nation, this is definitely the case.

Something that adults and children alike will enjoy is the AQUA Ferskvands Akvarium og Museum. It gives visitors the chance to see the different types of fish available and whilst it is not a very stimulating activity, for a short break and on the last day, it will surprise you exactly how interesting the aquarium is. It is something for the whole family to enjoy and if you have any questions then you can contact the aquarium on 89-21-21-89.

The attraction has been named as the largest freshwater aquarium in Northern Europe and its located near the Silkeborg lakes offers a wonderful sight with its numerous lakes and great photo opportunity. It is not just fish on view; there are also otters and various other animals that will make a wonderful day out. You can enjoy a great meal at the Café Aqua but if you would prefer, there are grill facilities to barbeque your own food and sit and relax before carrying out looking around.

If you are lucky enough then in the summertime you can take a trip by boat to and from Aqua which will take to Silkeborg or Himmelbjerget (The Sky Mountain)

Top Fact: This is one of the most hands on aquariums that I have come across and this is a main favourite amongst children because apart from looking, there is a touch tank that helps them experience the wonders of the deep. If you would like more information then you can refer to the website http://www.ferskvandscentret.dk/engelsk/aqua.htm and all guided trips must be booked in advance, the trips can be in English, Danish and German.

Dinner

Some of the best restaurants are located throughout the Copenhagen area and one of the best places to make a beeline for is the Kong Hans Kelder restaurant which is located in the oldest building. The building was originally built in 1510 and you can see the original Gothic design that has been applied to this great building.

The meals on offer are outstanding and along with excellent service, traditional award winning chefs offers outstanding cuisine and along with the historic atmosphere, you couldn’t ask for any more.

Despite the restaurant being high spec, the prices are quite reasonable and you may want to visit more than once. If you would like more information then you can refer to the website which does have an option to be in English and you can get those important menu and booking details. http://www.konghans.dk
