Alaskan cruises have been growing in popularity over the last couple of years. These cruises also vary in locations of stops, with stops along the Alaskan coast, and some are even offered along the Canadian coast. While the weather is somewhat different from tropical cruises, the scenery is no less picturesque. The contrast of the deep blue of the ocean and the green or white of the landscape, depending on the season is unbelievable. Some of the sights to see are absolutely breathtaking. Among the ports of call, all in Alaska, are Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks, the Hubbard Glacier, and Denali. Anchorage offers a wide variety of dining and shopping options, as well as gorgeous scenery in both winter and summer months. Juneau, the capitol of Alaska, offers its tourists spectacular views and scenery as it is located at the foot of Mt. Juneau. Biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities are offered, weather permitting. Glaciers are also an area of interest in Juneau, which has some of the most beautiful in the world. Fairbanks is called the “golden heart” of Alaska and is located near the Arctic Circle. Exploring and investigating the sights of Fairbanks can be very enjoyable for tourists. The Hubbard Glacier is one of the most active glaciers in the world and is considered to be a very popular tourist attraction. Denali is home to a national park that has a wide variety of wildlife to view, including grizzly bears, caribou, moose, and wolves. This can add a little spice to your Alaskan cruise.
