The easiest place to go buy a mouse is your local electronic stores, but that isn’t the only place. Wal-Mart has mice. Best Buy has mice. Even some local grocery stores have mechanical mice in their home improvement section. I would recommend going to a larger electronic or computer store to select a mouse so that you can have more variety to choose from. The first thing to understand about getting a mouse is if you get one for free. It has been a long-standing standard that when you buy a new computer that you get a free mouse with it. But as you can see by the hundreds of mice for sale, that there must be something not as positive as the factory mouse. The factory mouse tends to be a cheap mechanical device and great for basic use – but usually has no bells and whistles at all.

The next thing that you need to do is know how you are going to use your computer. If you are an active gamer than you may want to go with a laser mouse that reacts the quickest to your movements. If you don’t want to worry about power sources then you should go with a mechanical mouse. The final thing to do is get your hands around a mouse. You may think that the smaller mouse the better, but then you get a small USB mouse and you don’t like how small it is. You may think that you could do the trackball since then you wouldn’t have to move your hand at all except for a couple fingers, but you just can’t get the hang of it at all. Try out the mouse. Move it around as you normally would.
