If you made a financial investment into your mouse then you probably want to take care of it as much as possible. You may even feel this way if you got it free with your computer, because you know you secretly purchased this and that cost was in the larger price. There are some simple steps that will keep your mouse working.
• Keep fluids away from it. The easiest way to break a mouse is to spill Coke inside of it.
• Clean the bottom of the mouse. This doesn’t matter whether it is an optical, mechanical, or laser mouse. Lint and dust are going to gather and it is your job to clean that.
• If you have a mechanical or trackball mouse make sure that you follow the manufacture’s instructions on the cleaning schedule of the ball and sensors. It will extend the life of your mouse so much.
• If your mouse is corded then be careful with yanking on it. You may think that there is something wrong with the optical sensors, but there is actually a tear in the cord when you got mad last Tuesday.
• Slamming down the mouse will not help. Nor pressing the buttons harder will allow you to be better at a video game. Treat your mouse like your computer – with care!!
