Ink & Toner Cartridges Overview

Nine times out of ten, if you have a computer at home and are involved in business you use a printer. Even if you don’t but work at business establishment, you still use a printer some time during the day. Most people who use printers don’t know anything about them except to send a document to the printer and go get it. However, there is more to owning or operating a printer than just printing. There is maintenance involves, especially internally. The first thing to go is the ink, or toner, obviously since this is what puts the words on paper. However, replacing the ink or toner is not as simple as you may think. Not all ink or toner will work in the printer. To understand ink and toner better so as to get the right type for your printer, you need to learn about them. There are three different types of ink and toner cartridges:

 

·        Printer manufacturer brand: These types of ink and toner cartridges are manufactured by the original makers of the printer.  

·        Generic brand: These ink and toner cartridges are not made of the original printer. They are an off brand but still are compatible to your printer and cheaper to.

·        Refill kits: Refill kits are only available for ink cartridges. They are much cheaper and help save the environment.
