If you rather save money and just refill your printer cartridge but never did it before, it may be a scary thought. However, it doesn’t have to be. Just follow the tips below and you’ll do fine:

·        If this is your first time doing it, use a refill kit. They are easier to work with and include instructions on how to do it.
·        Whatever you do, don’t let your ink dry out completely. If you do, refilling it may not work, since the material is too dry to absorb the ink.
·        Take the refill kit and make sure to do all of them in one sitting. After refilling them, test that the ink flows out.
·        Just in case the refill kit does not work, have a spare cartridge handy as a replacement.
·        When you do purchase refill ink kits, don’t buy too many of them until you become familiar with their use. Once you understand how to use them and actually do a refill successfully, then perhaps you can stock up for future use.
·        Don’t try to use color refill kits. They are much harder to work with. Instead, just use black cartridges for now.
·        When refilling cartridges, be careful not to overfill. You’ll create spillage and will create a mess.
·        When refilling cartridges, make sure to take the cartridge out of the printer first.
If you notice the cartridge leaking while or after refilling, discard it. Otherwise the ink will leak in the printer and cause problems.
