A hangover can ruin your day from the moment you wake up. There is nothing worse than waking up after an evening of fun and feeling like something the cat drug in. Hangovers are a tricky thing. The smallest factor can either cause the onset of a hangover or intensify one. Luckily there are some tricks to help in avoiding the dreaded day after drinking curse as well as remedies to cure an already active hangover. Unfortunately, the only foolproof way to avoid a hangover entirely is to not drink alcohol.

A hangover can be described as sick like symptoms that someone who has consumed alcohol experiences if he or she drank too much for their body. Even heavy drinkers can succumb to a hangover. Also contrary to popular belief hangovers aren’t only experienced by those individuals who drank until they were completely drunk. Hangovers can be experienced by those who only drank moderately, especially if those individuals don’t consume alcohol on a regular basis. There are several symptoms that go along with a hangover. All of which are uncomfortable. The proper term for a hangover is veisalgia which is taken from the Norwegian word for uneasiness following debauchery which is kveis and the Greek word for pain which is algai.
