With an average annual rainfall of 15.4 inches, average annual snowfall of 55.4 inches, an average temperature of 63.8 degrees for the months of April-October, and 300+ days of sunshine each year, Denver isn’t for the melancholic overcast-loving soul. Denver actually has more annual hours of sun than San Diego or Miami Beach!
According to Wikipedia, the semi-arid climate of Denver is “characterized by dry winters, wetter springs, low-humidity summers, and pleasant falls.” Denver proper receives less snow than one might expect because the Front Range mountains tend to take the brunt of the massive snow fall in the area. Yet in spite of its boasted 300+ days of sunshine a year, afternoon thunderstorms are common occurrence during late summer.
