Whether you have already gained a few pounds of the freshman 15 or you want to start preventative action to avoid it there are several things you can do such as:

·        Get Involved: Many colleges offer free or low priced exercise classes on campus. This is a great way to work off calories as well as make some new friends. Inner-murals are also a great way to get active and involved with other students.
·        Regular Meal Times: By eating at regular times of the day your body gets used to a routine. Also try to avoid or limit eating late in the evening as it makes it harder for your body to digest and break down the food leaving it to turn into fat instead of being burned off.
·        Healthy Choices: Making healthy food choices is an excellent way to keep the freshman 15 off. Whether it is at a fast food restaurant or the dining hall options like salads, grilled instead of fried, and water instead of soda are all healthy choices.
·        Limit Snacking: By limiting the amount of snacks you consume you are making your chances better to keep the freshman 15 off. If you feel hungry while studying pretzels, carrot sticks, or microwave popcorn are all good snack options.
·        Drink Water: As cliché as it may sound, you really should drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. By replacing your old soda with a bottle of water you are reducing your calorie intake drastically which in turn will help fight off the freshman 15.
·        Limit Alcohol Consumption: Keep an eye on how many drinks you have. Alcoholic drinks such as beer are high in calories which can lead to gaining weight.
·        Get Enough Rest: Getting the right amount of sleep each night can help reduce your stress level which in turn can help decrease your chance for weight gain.
